Dr Mahesh is the head of department of spine and joint surgery at Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain hospital, where he is working as a consultant spine surgeon and head of department of spine and joint surgery, since august 2009. He has 20 years of experience in spine surgery.

He completed his medical school at Mysore medical college (Mysore university, India) and then did his ms orthopaedics at the prestigious all India institute of medical sciences (AIIMS New Delhi), specialised in the fields of spine surgery and arthroplasty. He also has fellowships from Korea and Germany in spine surgery.

Along with the above Dr Mahesh is a voracious reader of Kannada literature. He is passionate about farming and manages a farmland near his native town of Bijjawara. He is closely connected to his roots and community through both farming and serving the medical needs of the rural populace. He is involved in philanthropic projects for medical and non-medical causes.
